The Advanced Drying Equipment of SERVPRO

When water damage happens inside your home, it is essential that the right equipment is brought to the job to remove the excess moisture. If the wrong equipment is used, or faulty equipment, it is possible that further complications can occur, like mold damage or even rot. It is essential for tools that are built to speed up the evaporation process are present at the job, as swiftly remediating water damage is the key to a successful job.

In the case of this El Centro home, SERVPRO brought along its best equipment to combat the moisture and dry it out. Ranging from air movers to dehumidifiers, SERVPRO has the tools to address the damage.

"This is a velo (high-velocity) air mover; we use it to push the moisture out of a wall. It pretty much forces it out," commented Joel Ouijas, a technician of SERVPRO of El Centro/ Salton City. The air mover is just one example of the "equipment we use on a daily basis."

Ouijas further explained that dehumidifiers work in conjunction with the air movers. "The evolution AGR dehumidifier pretty much catches the moisture." Gesturing to the air mover, he explains that "this one pushes it out [and the dehumidifier] captures the moisture, and then it drains it out, usually into a sink [or] a shower."

Ouijas expressed how important it is to have both pieces of technology on-site at the job. The dehumidifier "...also provides heat. So it kind of works in conjunction with the air mover. If you don't have either or, you won't be able to dry the structure." One or the other cannot work on their own as the two machines play off of each other, addressing the same job together.
